Emergency First Response 12 Hour Care For Children – Reminder!
In the UK, professional child care providers such as nannies, nursery carers and childminders must complete a suitable paediatric first aid course at regular intervals. Through the use of the Instructor Led Approach, the Emergency First Response 12 Hour Care for Children programme meets regulatory requirements necessary for such a first aid course.
To teach the Care for Children programme to child care professionals in the UK, you will need to follow the 12 hour teaching schedule and include the elaboration notes for the three extra childhood illnesses. Course schedule and elaboration notes may be downloaded from the Emergency First Response Instructor Site or you can contact the Training department at training@emergencyfirstresponse.co.uk for copies.
There are two important steps to follow when recognising professional child care providers who have completed the 12 hour programme. You should issue a Course Completion Authorisation (CCA) for them as normal. This verifies course completion and registers them with the office. The Course Name should read Care for Children as normal. The participants will receive the usual Care for Children course completion card.
In addition, as child care providers are required to demonstrate the number of hours their first aid course included, you must also provide them with an Emergency First Response wall certificate. This should include the course title 12 Hour Care for Children course. This provides participants with written verification of their training for inspection purposes. Wall certificates may be purchased from your usual Product Consultant.
To contact Emergency First Response regarding this or any other related training query, please email training@emergencyfirstresponse.co.uk.

Participants Praise Instructors
Frank Seidelmeier, Emergency First Response Instructor 163515 - Larnaca, Cyprus
Being a medical professional myself, I can honestly say that Seidelmeier's instructional capabilities were outstanding. He maintained a high level of enthusiasm throughout this course with thorough subject knowledge. I am sure that any of his students will be a very valuable member at any emergency scene.
Joe Pryme, Emergency First Response Instructor Trainer 628079 - Dublin, Ireland
I found the EFR course very broad and well structured. I was privileged to have a great instructor, Joe Pryme, who I found to be excellent at explaining each module. Since completing the EFR course I have been called upon to assist a neighbour ... she has since made a good recovery. I have recommended the EFR course to many of my friends.
